About Us
Kandilila is owned by a Filipino and American couple - Angie and Mark. We have a deep passion for candles, so we decided to turn our hobby into a business. We understand the power of candles in creating ambiance, and we aspire to create exceptional products that are both luxurious and eco-friendly. We know that the best candles are made with natural ingredients, so we researched and tested different types of waxes. Our proprietary blend of coconut wax with other natural plant-based wax additives burns cleaner and slower than other types of wax to make long-lasting candles. We combine this wax with unique fragrances that remind us of Asia, Angie's homeland, and set out to create some of the finest quality, unique handmade candles. We have continued to innovate and develop more products in our line of high-end candles.
It is also important to us to make the safest candles possible. The wax and wax additives are plant-based, non-GMO, and produced without harmful pesticides or chemicals. We carefully research the fragrance oils that we use to ensure that they are free of phthalates, carcinogens, toxins, or other harmful chemicals. We also wanted to make sure that our candles are safe around children and pets including our dog, Lila (referenced in the name of our company). While most of our candles are strongly scented, we will identify ones that we feel are more pet-friendly to be helpful.
As our business grows, we realized we wanted to do more than just create beautiful candles. We want to help others in need, especially in the Philippines. We partner with the Tim Tebow Foundation to aid in the fight against human trafficking and to support orphans, special-needs children, children who needed medical assistance. We are committed to contribute a percentage of sales to the Tim Tebow Foundation and other great causes. We will continue to increase that percentage as our business grows. Our goal is to help others and not just profit from good fortunes.
We ensure that our business practices are environmentally friendly and sustainable. Both coconut wax and palm wax that we use are sustainably produced in the Philippines and other parts of SE Asia. We make a conscious effort to not only create a beautiful product but also to reduce our impact on the environment. We use recycled glass and natural, sustainable bamboo for our containers. We reuse packaging where we can and otherwise only use recyclable and biodegradable materials for packaging.
We have worked hard, and our dedication has paid off. Our candles are popular among our family and close friends who appreciate the quality and the ethos behind the brand. We are grateful that we can turn something we love into a successful business that allows us to give back to our community in a meaningful way.
